Royal Adelaide confirmed to host 2027 women's Australian Open

Golf Australia has today confirmed that The Royal Adelaide Golf Club will host the 2027 women’s Australian Open.

Following a successful start to a three-year partnership with the South Australian Government, the 2026 women’s Australian Open has already proven to be a major success, highlighting South Australia as a world-class destination for golf, major events and tourism.

One of Australia’s most celebrated tournament venues, The Royal Adelaide Golf Club will welcome the national women’s Open for a fourth occasion, having previously hosted the championship in 1994, 2017 and 2020.

As one of the most renowned golf courses in the country, the iconic layout will once again provide a premier stage for the world’s best women’s golfers to compete.

Golf Australia CEO James Sutherland said returning to Royal Adelaide in 2027 would allow fans to experience world-class golf at one of the country’s most revered venues.

“The Royal Adelaide Golf Club is one of Australia’s truly great courses and provides a spectacular stage for the women’s Australian Open,” Sutherland said.

“We’re excited to bring the event back to the venue and give fans another opportunity to see some of the world’s best women golfers on home soil.

“The success of this week’s event in Adelaide shows just how much appetite there is for elite women’s golf in Australia and we’re looking forward to an exciting finish on Sunday as we crown a new champion.”

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas said:

“We are thrilled to have the Australian Open back in Adelaide, and we have strong ambitions to grow the event and bring more visitors to South Australia to experience a truly world class event.

“Kooyonga has provided a sensational setting for this year’s Open and we know that Royal Adelaide will do the same in 2027.”
